Nativity Crib Festival
The annual Nativity Crib Festival is now in its 4th year. Taking place at the beginning of Advent it draws huge crowds of people of all ages to St John’s Church, Chipping Sodbury. Last year 5000 people attended the 4-day festival as 190 crib scenes from all parts of the world were on display. Some were made of wood, others of fabric, or banana skins and others of pottery. The one pictured above was made of glass.
It is a big family attraction and has been popularised by good coverage from the media.

Charity Fair
Chipping Sodbury has many festivals throughout the year and the church puts on special events to coincide and be part of the festival.
Among these were the Charity Fair, where various charities and mission agencies supported by the church were featured and provided displays. These include Foodbank, Street Pastors, Paul’s Place, Save the Children, CMS, MAF, and Turning Point Trust.

Harvest Thanksgiving
At Chipping Sodbury we have two services to celebrate thanksgiving on successive Sunday.
But there is on-going activity during the week with stations in the church to engage schoolchildren who come to join in the celebration…
