Bible Study

Reading our Bibles needs to become a regular habit in our lives – not just for Sundays. Here are some resources to help you get started and that help the Bible to come alive for you each day…

If you don’t have a Bible you will be pleased to know that you can now read on-line or with an app straight on your tablet or smartphone. Visit YouVersion at https://www.youversion.com/. There you have access to almost any translation of the Bible you may choose. They also have an app for smartphones and tablets. Printed Bibles can be bought from Amazon or Christian on-line bookstores as listed above.

Audio +

Why Radio+ ? Because so much audio material is today delivered via other means – such as iPads and smartphones – and is not ‘broadcast’ at all… With the appropriate apps we can now tune in many radio stations from around the world, and we don’t even need an antenna!   • CMS – the Church Mission Society is one of the oldest and works across the world. “Sharing Jesus – Changing Lives”
  • Feba Radio: using media to improve life, inspire change and instil hope in some of the world’s hardest-to-reach communities.Videos available.
  • Foodbank: working locally in Yate and Chipping Sodbury to feed local families in crisis, by providing emergency meals for 3 days
  • MAF – Mission Aviation Fellowship: flying light aircraft in developing countries so that people in remote areas can receive the help they need.
  • Mothers Union: supporting ministry to families both in UK and overseas
  • Save the Children: an international children’s charity which supports both emergency and long-term relief and development projects
  • Street Pastors: an interdenominational network of Christian charities operating across the UK and worldwide. On the streets of Chipping Sodbury every Saturday night.
  • Turning Point Trust: Working with homeless children living in the Kibera slum of Nairobi, Kenya
  • US (formerly USPG): a church-based charity working in direct partnership with Anglican Churches around the world.
