About SVB

The Sodbury Vale Benefice (SVB) comprises four churches within a few miles of each other located at the southern end of the Cotswolds in South Gloucestershire. The main town is Chipping Sodbury and the villages of Old Sodbury, Little Sodbury and Horton lie to the east and northeast.

The Sodbury Vale is loaded with history including William Tyndale in Little Sodbury where Little Sodbury Manor is adjacent to the church of St Adelines. Horton Manor, likewise is adjacent to St James’ Horton and St John’s in Old Sodbury is right on the Cotswold Way. The SVB Church Office is opposite St John’s Chipping Sodbury

Our Hope

Jesus Christ is the main focus of our hope – in a world where there appears to be little hope.

Described as The Hope of the World Jesus has commanded us to spread the good news – just as he commanded St Paul:

I am sending you to open their eyes, to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they might receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me (Acts 26:18)

As a Benefice we believe wholeheartedly in this Hope and want to share it with others so that they might enjoy the blessings too.
