Our Beliefs

Our beliefs are firmly founded on the Bible, the Word of God. They are also in line with the confessions of the worldwide Anglican Communion and the various creeds endorsed by the Church and recited throughout the world.

In essence they define the greatest experience that any person can encounter – an encounter with God through the Lord Jesus Christ.

Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, has made very clear statements on the nature and purpose of the Church. Many of these are echoed by the Archbishop of York Stephen Cottrell. These can be found in the summary of Anglican beliefs and statement of faith on the Church of England’s web site.
