Just being there can make all the difference.

That was how many of us felt a few months ago when we visited Jerusalem. Those memories are especially poignant at this Easter time as we trace Jesus’ final days before his crucifixion.

Caiaphas’ Palace was one of the places where Jesus was put on trial. It was also the place outside of which Peter vehemently denied knowing him – before the cock crowed.

Our picture shows the path that led up to the Palace – and is almost certainly the path Jesus took under guard. The backdrop is the Mount of Olives in the distance.

It was a difficult path.
