We celebrate the wonderful legacy of hymns by Timothy Dudley-Smith OBE who passed away on August 12th after a very long and fruitful life in many capacities in the Church, including Bishop of Thetford. Among his most popular hymns was ‘Tell Out My Soul’ based on the Magnificat. Another of his popular hymns was ‘Lord, for the Years’. He is credited with having written around 400 in total.

We owe a great debt of gratitude to him and many of the other hymnwriters of our generation that have been inspired to write the many hymns that populate our hymn books. These include Graham Kendrick, Stuart Townend, Matt Redman, and many more.
